The Burning
By Pam i Am
The blade glints
in the moonlight
Signaling
another time to fight
Lightning silver
the metal flashes
Into the air
menacing slashes
Thrust into the fire
the tip of the blade
Until it glows red hot
the weapon is made
The Burning...
cleanly slicing
through the skin
The Burning...
the sound
a grotesque sizzling
The Burning...
the smell
enough to sicken
Forced to watch
another scar to heal
Powerless to stop
evil meant to feel

The bells of waiting Advent ring,
The Tortoise stove is lit again
And lamp-oil light across the night
Has caught the streaks of winter rain.
In many a stained-glass window sheen
From Crimson Lake to Hooker's Green.
The holly in the windy hed…

SILENT WHISPERS
By Pam i Am
A moist dew
kisses her lips
As blood runs down
her fingertips
The mist of dawn
hides her pain
Far away sounds
of a speeding train
Silent whispers
Echo softly
A train whistle
Heard in the distance
Tells her story
Of nonexistence
Unknown soul
without history
Destined to remain
a woman of mystery
Can’t go back
she’s crossed the line
An eternal rest
in a box of pine
Silent whispers
Echo softly
A train whistle
Heard in the distance
Tells her story
Of nonexistence
The…

This is one of my favourite poems. I posted it onto a group once and I got booted because it was too miserable lol. OK it may not be cheerful, but, its a brilliant piece of writing. You may recall it from the film Four Weddings and a Funeral, when it was read beautifully by John Hannah at the funeral of his partner. W H Auden, was, as the character in the film was homosexual, but the poem is one that is for anyone who has lost someone.

Well at last I have put pen to paper and come up with a Poem of sorts. Bit cheesy, but not bad for a first attempt even if I say so myself. So take a look and see what you think, I would appreciate any comments even if they are bad, as long as they help me improve!!
The Lovers
Her lips are the colour of roses pressed to her chest,
Her skin is like porcelain, without blemish at its best.
Her hear like a drum beating fast in her breast,
Her beauty makes her stand out majestically…

Eating buttered toastesses,
Greasing their fistesse,
Up to their wristesses,
Oh, what beastesses

~ HOW TO MEET A WITCH ~
First, put your clothes on inside out.
Then walk backward to where two roads meet.
If you wait until midnight, you will see a witch!

Tonight is the night
When dead leaves fly
Like witches on switches
Across the sky,
When elf and sprite
Flit through the night
On a moony sheen.
Tonight is the night
When leaves make a sound
Like a gnome in his home
Under the ground,
When spooks and trolls
Creep out of holes
Mossy and green.
Tonight is the night
When pumpkins stare
Through sheaves and leaves
Everywhere,
When ghouls and ghost
And goblin host
Dance round their queen.
It's Halloween.

Of all the friends I've ever met,
You're the one I won't forget.
And if I die
Before you do
I'll go to heaven
And wait for you
I'll give the angels
Back their wings
And risk the loss
Of everything
Just to prove
My friendship is true
I'm thankful to have
Family and Friends like you!

Awaken now, or soon be awoke
A chariot’s appeared
Seahorse drawn and mermaid driven
The fish popped up and peered
From the sandy sea-shelves
They watch her graceful dance,The princess of the lake
Eager for amber sunbeams
Glassy surf won’t penetrate
To shine on coral kingdoms
Within the pearly deep
Her one wish On brittle star
This fairy of the lagoon
To dance among both stars and shells
And sing to the man in the moon…

Deep down in the everglades
In a place humans mustn’t see
Hundreds of Goblins were assembling
To debate how to save the keysThey were even expecting Dobby
The elf of Harry Potter fame
And the fabled Rumpelstitskin
Who tried to hide his nameGlobal Warming was the topic
That the Fairy Conference would debate
The agenda was . . How to save the world
Before it is too late . .Should they allow magic energy
To replace coal fired generators
A skeptical proposition . . but safer than
The Atomic Power in…

"Hold your breath and close your eyes, sqeeze all the magic from
inside. Step through the circle that time defies, and journey into
wonderous skies.
It's time to dance, its time to sing, enjoy the peace that fairies
bring. See their world through eyes of wonder, and on their beauty you
may ponder.
Go deep within the wooded ground, 'tis there the secrets can be found.
Enjoy your journey that begins right here. Close your eyes, and have no
fear."

Soft gentle stare
Warm tender touch
You took my hand
And we danced
Arms around me
Light dragging moves
Cheek warm against mine
Breathing deep from the soul
Long have I searched
Finally I have found
When you took my hand
And we danced

Creatively
You worked your art
You spun a web
Around my heart
How beautifully
Your deeds have spread
Each intricately
Woven thread
With strands of care
You dried my tears
Your gentleness
Dispelled my fears
Your wisdom
Helped me understand
And patiently
You held my hand
To give me courage
To brave the storm
With kindness
You have kept me warm
Your passion
Lit a glowing fire
That filled my soul
With sweet desire
You're all
That I was dreaming of
For the web you spun
Was made of love

"We were meant for each other in ways that you nor I could ever
comprehend. We love more than words can express, We care beyond all
reason. We whisper in tounges unreconginzable to some, The language of
love, We are complete. We are Soulmates.

Happy Tuesday!
Well summer has arrived with 95+ temps. We saw our first Slurry Bomber of the year yesterday, so there must be a fire somewhere.
I have some errands to run today and some things to get ready for our anniversary trip. We will be leaving on Thursday for Mesa Verde where…

Searching for the Dharma
You've traveled up ten thousand steps in search of the Dharma.
So many long days in the archives, copying, copying.
The gravity of the Tang and the profundity of the Sung
make heavy baggage.
Here! I've picked you a bunch of wildflowers.
Their meaning is the same
but they're much easier to carry.

One night I had a wondrous dream,
One set of footprints there was seen,
The footprints of the Goddess they were,
But mine were not along the shore.
But then some stranger prints appeared,
and I asked Her, "What have we here?
These prints are large and round and neat,
But much too big to be from feet."
"My child," She said in somber tones,
"For miles I carried you alone.
I challenged you to walk in faith,
But you refused and made me wait."
"You would not learn, you would not grow,
The walk of fai…

I Think Continually of Those
I think continually of those who were truly great.
Who, from the womb, remembered the soul's history
Through corridors of light where the hours are suns,
Endless and singing. Whose lovely ambition
Was that their lips, still touched with fire,
Should tell of the spirit clothed from head to foot in song.
And who hoarded from the spring branches
The desires falling across their bodies like blossoms.
What is precious is never to forget
The delight of the blood drawn fr…
